Eeligiblity criteria to study in Canada

Before you can apply for a study permit, you must have been accepted at a recognized school, university or college in Canada. Depending on your citizenship or where you live, you may need a temporary resident visa as well as a study permit. Being an Indian citizen, In most cases, you must obtain a study permit if you want to study in Canada.

Below are a few of the criterians one has to fulfill to get a study visa and realize the dream to study overseas.

  • You must have been accepted by a school, college, university or other educational institution in Canada.
  • You must prove that you have enough money to pay for your:
    • tuition fees and
    • living expenses for yourself and any family members who go with you to Canada and
  • You and your accompanying family members must be law-abiding citizens with no criminal record and not be a risk to the security of Canada. You may be asked to provide a police clearance certificate.
  • You and your accompanying family members must be in good health and willing to complete a medical examination, if necessary.
  • You must satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada when you have completed your studies.
  • There is a visa processing fee to apply for a study permit. The processing fee will not be refunded, even if your application is not accepted.

So, it is indeed a specialized work and needs proper guidance while preparing the visa file. The study visa refusal rate in Canada is quite high because more and more people use the study visa as a tool to settle in Canada. The immigration rules and regulations were tightened in February 2008 and further instructions from the minister in June 2010 made the immigration very difficult. Because, only a select few occupations were eligible for immigration purpose and hence the success of the student visa file is very important and hence we suggest you to take specialized services from our company which pioneers in successful study visa approval.

Proof of acceptance

If you plan to attend any school (primary or secondary), college, university or other educational institution in Canada, the school must complete and send you a letter of acceptance. You must include the original letter with your study permit application.

Identity Proof

A valid passport or travel document for you and each accompanying family member.

Photographs

Two recent passport-size photos of you and each accompanying family member.

Financial support

You must prove that you can support yourself and the family members who accompany you while you are in Canada. You need to prove that you have sufficient funds to support yourself in Canada by showing some of the following:

  • proof of a Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada;
  • your bank statements for the past three to four months;
  • a bank draft in convertible currency or a $ draft;
  • proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees to the college or university;
  • a letter of support from the person or institution providing you with money;

apart from the different sources of income shown above, there could be various sources of income depending upon the individual circumstances. We strongly suggest you to meet our experienced counsellors and visa guidance officers to help u make a proper file and minimise the risk of non claimable funds to be included in the application which is not considered like jewellery and money invested in shares etc. to name few.

The non claimable funds may be taken out from the total assets that u show and the student visa to Canada may get refused on the grounds of unsufficient funds.

IMPORTANT NOTE : Make sure your application is complete and that you include all the necessary documents. It is highly recommended that you submit a complete application in the first instance only so that the chances of rejection of student visa file are minimum. After all, we charge a nominal fee to prepare your file in the most professional manner.

In addition, you may have to provide other information when you apply for a study permit. Consult our highly experienced student counselors at our centrally located office in Connaught Place at Barakhamba Road in New Delhi to fill out any additional forms or provide any additional documents at the time of submission of your file for visa approval to the Canadian High Commission.
